Arboleda provides permanent affordable housing to 48 households. The three story structure was built over a subterranean parking garage on a 0.84 acre site. The homes are a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments and include both two story townhomes and flats. Common amenities include a community room, a courtyard, a computer room, free internet in each home and a children’s play structure. SAHA is very pleased to expand its housing offerings not only for disadvantaged families, but also people with developmental disabilities, who are underserved throughout the Bay Area.
The plans for Arboleda have received LEED for Homes Platinum certification in recognition of the wide range of environmentally sustainable design elements and construction techniques such as testing the heating and air conditioning ducts for leaks. Arboleda includes a 44 kilowatt photovoltaic system and a solar water heating system designed to reduce water heating costs by 67%.
